Recruiting For Less – Our San Diego client, a residential design/build firm is looking for a Purchaser/Estimator to join their team.

The successful candidate will be collecting and analyzing data in order to estimate the time, money, materials, and labor required to complete a project.

Responsibilities:

Open bid packages for Trade Partners to provide written proposals into Builder Trend
Review and qualify all trade partners proposals submitted through Builder Trend
Process Start/ Completion Date Change Order once a project has begun
Process Tile/ Material take offs and order necessary material and arrival time i.e. tile, slabs, etc..
Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data.
Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Process all change orders within 48 hours in BT with cost, # of delay days & Cutoff date to approve
Efficiently purchase each project with a minimum 45% Gross Profit.
Seek additional Trade Partners to bid projects
Seek multiple proposals from trades from the Project Manager prior to starting of project
Authorize payment for purchases and accurately forward receiving documentation
Verify Purchase requisitions by comparing items requested
Continually develop and maintain relationships with trade partners
Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics directly with trade professionals
Stay up to date with industry trends and establish long-term purchasing arrangements with trade partners when it is beneficial to the company.
Estimate projects prior to contracting and construction product and material including labor.
Establishing project costs by determining quantities and measurements of all construction scopes and applying unit costs.

Qualifications:

3 year’s experience in construction estimating.
Able to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates.
High computer skills
Strong communication skills.
Demonstrate outstanding writing skills
Promote honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness.
Multitasking and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
