Recruiting For Less – Recruiting For Less – Our client is the largest integrated manufacturer of uncoated freesheet in North America and the second largest in the world. Their Dryden Pulp Mill Operations, which utilizes annually 1.8 million m3 of conifer fibre and manages the Trout Lake and Wabigoon Sustainable Forest Licenses with combined area of approximately 1.7 million hectares, is seeking an Operations Team Lead to join their Forestlands Team.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and working in conjunction with the Forestlands team, your role will be to develop, plan and lead the implementation of safety, forest stewardship, production and quality standards for their operations on the Trout Lake or Wabigoon Forest Sustainable Forest Licenses.

Dryden is a progressive community set between Winnipeg and Thunder Bay, Dryden offers excellent medical, educational and recreational facilities.

Daily travel out into the forest licenses would be expected

Responsibilities:

Overall leadership of safety, environmental, financial and production systems for a team of staff and contractors engaged in harvesting, road construction/maintenance, hauling and silviculture operations.
Oversee the effective development and implementation of a fibre supply plan (1-5 year horizon) for the Trout Lake or Wabigoon Sustainable Forest Licenses to meet financial, quality and inventory targets for the Dryden Pulp Mill and other external customers.
Leadership, coaching and development of an operational team.
Forestlands key contact for Trout Lake or Wabigoon Forest operational plans with both internal and external customers, local government ministries, community organizations and surrounding First Nations.
Qualifications

Forestry Bachelor’s Degree
Eligible for membership with the Ontario Professional Foresters Association
5+ years of demonstrated leadership that has produced successful business results together with strong beliefs and behaviors in safety, professional ethics and environmental values.
Solid business skills (entrepreneurial, negotiation, cost competitiveness, business planning, strategic thinking and results forecasting)
Team player demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a diverse group of forest industry, government, resource users and community members.
Nice to Have Skills/Experience:

Registered Professional Forester (RPF)
Ontario work experience as it relates to the forest management prescription requirements
Salary: $85k – $125k, benefits
