Our Concord client, a seafood and fish import, exporter and distributor is in need of a Logistics Coordinator. This role is the primary point of contact for and will oversee all imports, exports and local shipments. Since 1985, our family owned client has imported, export and distributed a variety of fresh and frozen seafood items for Canada, the US and other foreign markets. The Logistics Coordinator will play an important role in supporting our growth.

The office hours for this position are from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with a 60-minutes paid lunch; on-call and monitoring emails for time-sensitive shipments when needed

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Overseeing all steps involved with importing/exporting/moving goods from origin to final destination; internationally, cross-border and domestically (a checklist is available)
• Supporting Management with purchases and sales
• Assisting with creating item codes and generating purchase orders
• Work directly with colleagues, service providers (custom brokers, carriers, cold storage warehouses and more) and government authorities on a daily basis
• Preparing shipments for import/exports and documentation for clearances: creating purchase orders and/or item codes, customizing label templates and verifying the artwork for CFIA/FDA compliance, creating bar codes when needed, setting up new packers with the on-boarding package, as well as following the other compliance checklist items
• Updating the shipment tracker
• Participating in webinars and/or information sessions to stay informed on compliance and regulatory changes stemming from the CFIA, CBSA, US FDA, CBP, and US Fish & Wildlife trade requirements
• Assisting with our trade licences to review with Management
• Coordinating food safety inspections
• Seeking quotes and negotiating freight rates with various carriers, as well as validating freight invoices that were negotiated
• Dispatching pick-ups and coordinating movements as required
• Tracing and monitoring shipments in transit, including those moving by ocean container, by air, truck, rail, between warehouses, etc.
• Researching and trying to find solutions to logistics problems as they arise, and working with Management to identify and implement logistical efficiencies, as well as measure results
• Inventory transfers and adjustments when needed
• Assisting with special projects or other related tasks as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Experience in Logistics and/or Supply Chain (minimum 3 years)
• Experience with the CFIA, US FDA and US Fish & Wildlife is strongly preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Some local travel may be required (gas reimbursement would apply)
• Punctual and possess a strong sense of urgency
• Proactive with finding answers an following up
• Passionate about logistics, being organized and improvement
• French and Spanish are an asset
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
• Team player
• Experience using Microsoft Navision is an asset
• Maintains a pleasant manner with colleagues, vendors, customers and service providers.
