Our Woodbridge based client, a custom retail fixtures manufacturer, is hiring to meet demand for its highly regarded design and production services. Position Overview:
This position is responsible for performing a variety of general painter, preparation, spray painting, brush painting and finish or re-finishing to any fixture or component.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret travelers/work orders
  • Prepare parts for painting, including masking, protecting critical surfaces, threads, etc.
  • Operation, maintenance and use of paint spray equipment in a controlled (paint booth) environment, selection of spray gun nozzles for required coverage
  • Select appropriate paint and mix paint according to pre-determined formulas
  • Maintain documentation of prescribed equipment settings to achieve quality parts through spray booth
  • Tracks and records lot numbers, paint samples and paint colors
  • Generate paint reports as required
  • Load/unload parts
  • Learn water treatment system
  • Clean and maintain ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment
  • Ensure work area is kept clean and free from hazards
  • Familiar with safety requirements and hazards of work area.
  • Ability to work within a spray booth while wearing respirator and other protected gear.

    Qualifications:

  • 2 to 5 years industrial painting experience, working in a paint booth, operating a hand-held spray gun
  • Knowledge of different paint bands, types and mixing requirements for particular applications
  • Knowledge of different thinners, inhibitors and their proper use and application
  • Good hand and eye coordination
  • Strong communications skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Understands and reads English
  • WHMIS Trained

    Compensation

  • $20-25/hr commensurate with experience
  • Group health and dental coverage
  • 4% vacation pay
