GM/AGM Pizzeria

Our client, a family run local pizzeria, is looking for a General Manager and Assistant General Manager to roll up their sleeves and join the team.

The General Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the restaurant, including the recruitment, selection, and development of team members. The GM oversees the inventory and ordering of food, beverage, and supplies, optimizes profits by controlling food and labor costs, and ensure that guests receive a quality product and a high level of service.

The Assistant GM assists the GM in meeting all these objectives.

Responsibilities:
• Ensures 100% Guest Satisfaction
• Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards.
• Ensure positive guest service in all areas. Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
• Optimizes profits by controlling food, beverage, utility and labor costs
• Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures
• Verifies appropriate food safety, food handling and food storage procedures are followed (must be Food Manager certified)
Operational:
• Enforce all policies, procedures, standards, specifications and training programs
• Achieve objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and cleanliness through employee training and creating a positive, productive working environment
• Ensure all financial and personnel/payroll duties are completed accurately and on time
• Ordering all food, beverage, & supplies, and inspecting deliveries for quality & accuracy
• Provides leadership and direction to all team members to ensure efficient operation
• Maintain professional restaurant image including; cleanliness, uniforms, and appearance
• Monitor actions of staff & customers to ensure health & safety standards and alcohol regulations are obeyed
• Direct facility cleaning maintain sanitation standards and keep records of such activities
• Ensure that all equipment is clean and in excellent working condition through inspection and by following the preventative maintenance programs.
• Comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees and guests.
• Ensure that sidework/closing checklists are followed, and that the facility is properly cleaned, stocked, and ready for the next shift.
• Fill in as required to ensure a smooth and efficient operation
Personnel:
• Recruit, hire, conduct orientation, and oversee staff training
• Make employment and termination decisions.
• Manage employee performance, including feedback, mentoring, coaching and discipline
• Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity, while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are met.
• Maintain the employee files
• Continually strive to develop staff in areas of managerial and professional development.
Community Involvement
• Develop, plan and carry out restaurant marketing, advertising and promotional activities and campaigns.
• Provide strong presence in local community and high level of community involvement by restaurant and personnel.

Other Requirements
1. Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to restaurant problems. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
2. Must have the stamina to work 55 hours per week
3. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, POS
4. Outstanding leadership and communication skills

9. Requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 50 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion
10. Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operate phones, computers, scanners, copiers, and other office equipment
