Clinical Director – Special-Needs Children Centre

Our Thornhill client is a state-of-the-art children centre for children with a wide variety of special needs, providing education, recreation, respite services and therapy. The therapy clinic offers physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, ABA therapy and music therapy. Using a combination of push-in, pull-out, group, and individual therapy, the therapy clinic is a dynamic and robust environment for therapists who are motivated to provide the highest level of care to special needs clients.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Clinical Director overseas all services provided to schools, camps and the general community, and is responsible for the quality of service, program development and management, communication between departments, and overall growth and sustainability of the therapy clinic.

Successful candidates should have:
• Experience practicing as a rehab therapist (OT/PT/SLP). Pediatric experience an asset but not required
• Experience in a director or management role, preferably healthcare-related
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Passion and commitment for supporting special-needs children and their families
• High standards of therapeutic excellence
• Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter
Role and Responsibilities:
• Set the tone for professional culture amongst the therapy department
• Represent rehab therapy at director meetings
• Collaboration with other areas of the organization (e.g. school, camp, etc)
• Set the standard for team performance, quality of service
• Implement systems and processes for efficiency and productivity
• Meet the dynamic needs of the school, parents, and other professionals
• Communication with parents and ensure parent satisfaction
• Recruitment and hiring of staff
• Liaise with marketing and operations
• Development of new initiatives and programs that contribute to the overall growth of the clinic
• Accountable to finance department for any billing issues.
• Allocate department budget (other than staffing)
• Responsible for overseeing scheduling of individual clients for school and clinic and group/consultation for classrooms.
• Oversee scheduling clinic space ensuring fair and appropriate allocation
• Promotes therapy clinic through marketing/social media (in conjunction with marketing department)
