Recruiting For Less – Our client, a fast-growing architectural walls, ceiling systems and lighting manufacturing company in the Niagara Falls region is looking for a remote Architectural Walls Specialist to join their team.

Job Purpose | Overview

The Project Manager Walls and Ceilings, under the direction of the VP of Sales and Marketing will lead and implement walls and ceilings projects to reduce costs, improve productivity, and increase customer satisfaction. In order to achieve these goals, the Project Manager will be required to define project requirements and scope, acquire project resources, and supervise the efforts of project team members. Efficient delivery of project deliverables, effective quality control, clear communication of expectations to stakeholders, and upward reporting to senior management are critical tasks that must be performed throughout each projects’ lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Establish a professional wall and ceiling company and develop and establish procedures, drawing templates and training for this new part of the business.

• Train staff as well as contracted agents on how to acquire quote requests.

• Assist staff and contracted agents with inquiries and fulfillment of orders.

• Evaluate quote requests for accuracy and other issues.

• Review take-offs of drawings and create quotation based on the take-offs.

• Assist in any requirements needed to close the order and this might include working with management to reduce margins if necessary, or working with Sales agents, owners, and Installation company to Value Engineer the project to get within clients budget.

• Assist and review the wall team to create working shop drawings complete with Door, Glass and other schedules.

• Work with Wall Installation Company to complete the project on time and on Budget, with regard to reducing or eliminating back charges and other extra costs that are the company’s responsibility. This can include onsite assistance or training as required.

• Work with Installation Company to correct defects in the installation with regard to responsibility for cost, with the overriding consideration of keeping the end-user happy.

• Work with the design and manufacturing teams to provide information and suggestions for continuous product improvement.

• Coordinate and manage project team resources, identifying appropriate resources/participants needed, assigning tasks and activities, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.

• Develops best practices and tools for project execution and management (such as the drawing templates, etc.).

• Manages changes in project scope, identifying potential crises and devising contingency plans.

• Builds and develops any business relationships vital to project success.

• Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations.

• Complete any other related duties as required.

Additional Responsibilities

• Travel will be required with availability within 1 weeks’ notice unless black-out periods are provided 30 days in advance by incumbent.

• This position is part of a startup and will require expertise in establishing a professional wall and ceiling company.

• There will be a lot of time spent helping to set up the procedures, drawing templates and training for this new venture.

Qualifications

  • · Post-secondary degree or diploma in business management or related subject
  • · A minimum of (1) years of direct work experience in project management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • · Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods.
  • · Ability to create and edit project documents, material and presentations
  • · Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with business units, corporate departments, key managers, and other stakeholders

Physical Requirements

Travel throughout Canada is required between our facility and job sites

· Overtime as required

· Sitting/Standing for extended periods of time

· Manuel dexterity required to use desktop and computer
