Our client, a Jacksonville FL based system integrator and IT services firm, is need of a Sr. Analytics Engineer

Role Summary
Ensure the integrity, uptime, and performance of business critical Business Intelligence (BI) solutions in the production environment with minimal supervision. Build and maintain the development pipeline in lower environments and accelerate the implementation of new technologies to production readiness. Work with multiple Information Services teams to configure and deploy BI applications and system software. Leads initiatives and mentors junior staff.

Responsibilities:
• Primary operational responsibility for ensuring SLAs for all BI systems
• Supports development by making infrastructure related recommendations, installing and upgrading 3rd party software, and deploying BI solutions in all relevant environments
• Makes recommendations to maintain technical currency of BI related infrastructure
• Develops and maintains documentation for system architectures, installation instructions, and deployment processes
• Regularly communicates issues and resolution recommendations to management
• Primary contact for vendor technical support to quickly resolve issues
• Maintains workload software and the schedules within them
• System administrator and subject matter expert (SME) for user authorization and authentication for BI solutions
• Deploys and maintains system monitoring tools
• Monitors and tunes system capacity and performance by working collaboratively with DBAs to collect and analyze system performance data
• Provides technical information for BI infrastructure-related change management
• Recommends retirement of BI solutions with information gleaned from analyzing usage patterns
• Maintains BI license counts and oversees license distribution process
• Completes assignments while keeping impact on related tasks and the overall solution in mind
• Identifies tasks, task dependencies, and estimates for duration and cost
• Develops infrastructure project estimates, plans and schedules
• Manages multiple commitments and prioritizes based on management feedback
• Facilitates group discussions and encourage teamwork for improved performance
• Technically leads and professionally mentors peers
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Responsible for 24/7 on-call support, in rotation
• Maintains an in-depth knowledge of current and emerging technologies and standards and provides technical direction to management and users
• Identifies issues, takes ownership through resolution, communicates status and appropriately escalates

Qualifications:
• Possess teamwork and leadership skills; skilled communicator and team player.
• Knowledge and experience installing and maintaining BI systems, required.
• Ability to gather information for troubleshooting and resolution of system issues.
• Working knowledge of current versions of Microsoft BI Tools (PowerBI, SSAS, SSRS and SharePoint) and IBM Cognos, preferred.
• Microsoft SQL Server proficiency, required.
• Understanding of cube creation and star schema models.
• Customer service abilities.
• Intelligence, flexibility, creativity, and initiative.
