Rail Communication Engineers

Our San Francisco based client has broad-based experience in providing construction management and oversight for public works and heavy construction projects. They are looking for Rail Communication Engineers for a 3 year project with the Los Angeles Metro Systems.

Role #1 – Specializing in Fire Alarms with general knowledge of Rail Communication systems.

Role #2 – Specializing in Cable Transmission System (fiber backbone installation, inspection & testing) with general knowledge of Rail Communication systems.

Start Date: 1st week of September
On-site and some field work
Knowledge in Rail Systems is preferred

Typical Activities
Design and support services in support of Metro for modifications and upgrades to existing Communication Systems, including but not limited to:
• Fiber optic (SONET) and Ethernet communications backbone
• Telephone systems
• CCTV
• Public Address (audible and visual systems, TPIS, ETEL/PTEL)
• Fire Detection, Fire Suppression & alarm
• Intrusion detection and Access Control
• Seismic detection
• Radio Network (including microwave backhaul)
• SCADA
• Data networks
• Cyber Security, Firewall & Network Design
• Gas Monitoring

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5 years’ consecutive experience in Communication System design and/or maintenance is required.
