Recruiting For Less – Are you a Public Accountant looking to transition to an industry position?

Our client, a Tennessee based manufacturing company that specializes in manufacturing and importing metalworking, woodworking, and material handling products in North America is looking to hire a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing activities in the monthly financial statement close process, accomplishing routine accounting duties, preparing financial reports and participating in special projects related to financial accounting.

Responsibilities:

Perform activities in the monthly financial statement close process
-Conduct a program of procedures related to monthly financial information of business units in Switzerland, France, Hong Kong, and Russia.
-Using a Host Analytics consolidation tool, perform consolidation for 13 entity reporting structure, including: (i) prepare consolidation entries to eliminate inter-company balances and activity, (ii) review the translation of balances and activity from functional currency to reporting currency, and (iii) prepare or review consolidated roll forward analyses for key accounts, such as fixed assets, intangible assets, debt, and equity.
-Prepare or review general accounting analyses and schedules as requested.
Performing routine accounting duties
-Maintain fixed asset records (Primary Location).
-Prepare journal entries to account for a 50% joint venture in Russia.
-Reconcile inter-company accounts.
Prepare financial reports to external parties,
-Support external SEC-like filings relating to 144A-for-life debt, including, but not limited to quarterly and annual reports.
-Prepare monthly borrowing base certificate for an asset-based lending arrangement. Coordinate with external service providers to prepare monthly sales tax returns.
Participating in special projects related to financial accounting
-Ensure readiness for annual financial statement audit.
-Annual impairment testing for intangible assets.
-Work with outside consultants on projects related to sales tax, income tax provision.
-Document and analyze technical accounting topics and transactions.

Qualifications:
3 years of post-degree accounting work?
BA/BS in Accounting and CPA designation
Proficient in using accounting software and other MS Office tools
Advanced level skills in using Excel, including using lookup tables, pivot tables, and advanced formulas
At least two years of meaningful exposure to a national accounting firm
High attention to detail and accuracy
