Income Verification Team Lead

Our Toronto-based client, an auto finance company is in need of an Income Verification Team Lead to be responsible for mentoring and developing team members on the company’s policies and practices of investigating and confirming customer proof of income, overseeing the loan approval process, and building, implementing and managing quality policies, procedures and standards. The successful candidate should demonstrate excellent leadership skills, and experience in process development within a lending institution.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team to ensure assigned workload is completed within quality, productivity and service standards.
  • Coach and provide technical guidance to the team; conducting regular performance appraisals and coaching sessions.
  • Model, promote and partner with management to hold others accountable for quality POI investigation and customer service excellence.
  • Partner with management to oversee coordination and execution of services and maximizes department productivity.
  • Train new employees on systems, processes, or other areas of company operations; keeping abreast of the latest training methods and techniques used in the industry.
  • Collect and review proof of income documents, and verifying with employer when required, in accordance with the company’s policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance, and escalating any discrepancies to the Credit Team.
  • Design, implement and manage departmental policies, produces and standards that are efficient and effective in supporting loan approvals from the Credit Team.
  • Educate other team members on the departmental policies, produces and standards, and ensure the others within the company are upholding these standards.
  • Partner with the various cross-functional teams working towards achieving the dealerships and consumers’ desired business results.
  • Communicate, regularly, with other team members to ensure customer needs and expectations will be met by the company; addressing, as a team, any obstacles that could potentially interfere with achieving these results
  • Contribute to operational improvements to streamline procedures/processes and enhance service to the credit & sales teams.

    Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in income verification within a banking or lending institution, preferably in sub-prime/prime auto loans and mortgages
  • University/College degree preferred
  • Strong computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), loan origination software (CMSi, TCI, etc.)
  • Strong leadership skills, managerial experience is an asset

    Compensation:

  • Salary: $50,000-$60,000 commensurate with experience
  • Vacation: 2 weeks
