Bookkeeper / Office Admin

Our Brooklyn based client, a leader in the development and deployment of Lighting Retrofits, Building Controls, Energy Intelligence, Security Systems, Operations Management and Systems Integration, is looking for a Bookkeeper/Admin Manager to join their team.
Hours: Mon-Fri, 9am – 6pm, 1 hour lunch break

Description:
• Data Entry – Record work orders and purchase orders and create invoices from work orders
• Review vendor invoices for discrepancies and submit for approval
• Reach out to customers for outstanding receivables, and reconciling accounts
• Question discrepancies and resolve problems as they arise
• Maintain office supplies, copy paper, stationary items, kitchen supplies
• Ensure the office setting is organized, neat, safe, and orderly
• Receiving and shipping parcels and skids/pallets, allocating orders to specific projects/work orders
• Training will be provided for the right candidate

Qualifications:
• 1+ years work experience
• Associates degree in Accounting – must, BA in Accounting – preferred
• Understanding of GAAP Principles, chart of accounts, credits, and debits
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the company
• Familiarity with accounting software, Peachtree, Quickbooks (preferred), Vista (preferred)
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites, Outlook, Excel (Vlookup + Pivots), Word or Google Docs
• Reconciliation, provide weekly financial reports to supervisors
• Maintain and organize confidential documents and digital copies
• Data entry with the ability to type 50+ words per minute
• Strong follow up skills through email, phone, and messaging
• Computer/technical skills a plus but not necessary
• Good analytical skills and ability to think out of the box
• Time management with shipment tracking and recurring deliveries

Salary: to 50k commensurate with experience, Bonus, Benefits, Vacation
