Accounting Manager – Home Reno/Construction

Our San Diego client, a residential design/build firm is searching for an Accounting Manager with construction experience to join their growing team. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department, work closely with the CFO and A/P Bookkeeper, and provide support to the Leadership Team.

Responsibilities:
• Manage Accounting Department
• Monitor project schedules to create client billings at defined milestone draws
• Coordinate with client lenders
• Make collection calls when necessary to ensure company cash flow
• Provide back up for and assist A/P Bookkeeper when needed
• Conduct project audits
• Process bank deposits
• Manage files: physical and digital

Skills and Experience:
• Must have experience working in the construction and/or residential remodeling industry
• At least 5 years of previous experience in bookkeeping and office management/administrative support
• Experience with defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions
• Energetic self-starter who has demonstrated an ability to communicate and work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Strong, well-developed organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Focused on systems and procedures, record keeping, planning, and careful organization of activities, tasks, and projects that require accuracy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to efficiently problem solve independently and prioritize
• Analytical thinking and mathematically inclined
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and QuickBooks Enterprise, Contractor Edition.
