Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and manage the company’s design strategy
• Ensures drawings and designs are completed on time and adhere to the established specifications and standards
• Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the subfunction and develops procedures to support the infrastructure
• Attend Discovery Meetings with the team as needed to ensure proper procedure and information gathering are being followed
• Establish an artistic strategy for key project design
• Display strong leadership qualities and motivate the design team to strive for excellence
• Effecting and introducing new and innovative strategies of artistic execution
• Demonstrate ability in the recruitment, training and performance management of personnel
• Identify new market trends and opportunities and galvanize the business expertise in order to capitalize on the trends
• Balance multiple project and deadlines
Qualifications:
• Professional degree in Architecture with CA license or equivalent experience
• 15 years of relevant professional experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Organizational and time management skills
• Appreciation and working knowledge of sustainable design techniques and solutions
• Excellent communication skills and work reasonably well with others
• Thorough knowledge of California and industry building codes and regulations
• Computer skills including AutoCAD, Windows XP, Microsoft Office, Act, and Outlook
• Chief Architecture experience a plus
