Project Engineer – Refrigeration

Our Scarborough based client provides industrial chilling, pumping, and freezing equipment for industrial temperature control needs. They are looking for a Project Engineer.
This role is responsible for overseeing assigned projects. This involves scope definition, refrigeration system design, creating detailed project plans, coordinating with customers and other departments, monitoring deliverables and maintaining schedules. The incumbent will interface directly with clients and coordinate internal and external resources to ensure projects are completed per client specifications.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for project timelines from order to completion (design, manufacture, installation)
• Communicates with both internal and external teams, including subcontractors and manufacturers.
• Builds and maintains relationships with existing clients, focusing on their needs to customize company products and services accordingly, and providing timely follow-ups.
• Visit customer site to understand their needs and establish project scope
• Schedules and manages status meetings internally and/or externally with relevant groups, and prepares professional meeting materials (e.g. PowerPoint presentations, technical reports).
• Provides technical assistance to relevant internal and external groups.
• Monitors project costs to ensure completion within budget
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 3-5 years of experience working in refrigeration system design.
• Able to read and interpret technical documents including engineering drawings and specifications.
• Able to assess customer requirements and design custom refrigeration system accordingly
• Detail oriented and able to work on large, complex systems with multiple interconnected variables
• Able to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external contacts, both verbally and in writing
• Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and vendors and deal tactfully with them
• Excellent collaboration, organizational, time management, customer service and problem-solving skills and the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions
• Able to work and thrive in a team environment, focused on achieving results
