Product Manager

Our Montreal-based client, an established retail electronics import/export firm is in need of a Product Manager to be responsible for determining by category which product lines to carry and to successfully build and source those programs in Asia. The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of the consumer electronics and technology market with experience sourcing product and manufacturing in Asia.

Responsibilities:

Lead product development and strategy
Manage Asian supplier selection and development of data analysis/requirements
Plan, launch and manage RFI/RFPs/RFQs
Lead multiple simultaneous Asian strategic sourcing initiatives, follow standard sourcing methodology
Provide rigorous analysis of spend data and industry dynamics
Lead negotiations with all relevant manufacturers and suppliers
Oversee supply chain management, review channel performance, inventory planning programs, and sales/marketing strategy

Qualifications:

Minimum 5+ years’ experience in product management and sourcing electronics and accessories in Asia
Nice to have – familiarity with cell phone and MVNO market
University/College degree preferred in supply chain management
Strong computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Proven negotiation and/or contracting skills, effective interpersonal skills

Compensation:

Salary: commensurate with experience
Vacation: 2 weeks
