Production Supervisor – Automotive Stamping & Assembly

Our Brampton client, a tier one automotive parts supplier, is need of an afternoon shift Production Supervisor for its Assembly department. The successful candidate will be required to supervise a group of hourly employees in a fast paced manufacturing plant. You must be team oriented, well organized with strong leadership and interpersonal skills. You will be required to lead and motivate employees to meet objectives and have strong problem solving skills.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assign work duties to all production staff on the shift in accordance with the requirements of the daily production schedule and Production Manager’s instructions
  • Provide orientation and training for new employees
  • Ensure acceptable attendance levels are maintained
  • Communicate with Quality department to ensure consistent application of quality requirements
  • Assist Production Manager as required
  • Comply with requirements as outlined in the company handbook
  • Assist in ensuring a safe work environment
  • Ensure proper production counts and material handling is carried out
  • Conducts accident investigations as required
  • Maintain high level of housekeeping
  • Learn, obey and practice the health and safety policies of the company
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in automotive production supervision
  • Sound leadership skills with a willingness and desire to lead; demonstrated leadership ability; ability to teach others effectively
  • Well-developed communication, organizational, interpersonal and analytical abilities
  • Problem solving (including problem identification and solutions, both individually and with a team)
  • Technical skills and aptitude
  • Possess job knowledge, including technical knowledge of each operation in their area, and know the correct way each operation should be performed. Must be knowledgeable about the materials, machines, tools, and production steps.

Compensation

  • $24.40 per hour (includes $0.40 afternoon shift premium).
  • This role will require overtime, paid at time and one half after 42 hours worked.
  • Sunday hours are paid at double time
