HACCP Co-ordinator – Meat Processing

Our Toronto based meat processing client is in need of a HACCP co-ordinator. This position will be responsible for the HACCP program maintenance in the plant. If you have experience running the HACCP program in a CFIA inspected meat processing facility we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • HACCP maintenance, reassessment, monitoring and verification
  • Update SOPs and forms as necessary from HACCP reassessments, program changes, etc.
  • Conduct audits to comply with all requirements
  • Perform food safety assessments
  • Provide production support, decision making for food safety/quality issues
  • Perform audit and records verification
  • Coordinate hold and release of raw materials, products in process and finished products based on procedures and specifications
  • Coordinate Non-Compliance Reports and in house disposition of materials placed On Hold
  • Perform allergen verification and label review
  • Participate in Food Safety Meetings
  • Maintain/Update the Label Database of Finished Product SKUs
  • Perform Mock Crisis and Mock Recalls
  • Conduct water sampling and air pressure monitoring
  • Review plant blueprint
  • Backup for working with the Pest control supplier to keep program up to date and submit results and corrective actions to food safety SPOC
  • Micro backup, swabbing, plating, autoclaving, media preparation
  • Conduct mid-shift cleanup inspections
  • Assist with construction activities and planning of environmental monitoring for listeria control
  • Plan, schedule and verify equipment calibration activities (MDs, thermometers, datatracers, etc.)
  • Participate by providing input in management meetings, period reviews
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • HACCP certification
  • Must have in-depth HACCP experience including; program development; implementation of programs and self-auditing of HACCP programs.
  • 3 – 5 years of meat processing experience in areas of GMP and HACCP principles and programs
  • Proven supervisory leadership and communication skills thus a team motivator and must be able to be the liaison between the plant and the CFIA
  • Computer proficiency (Work, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must be open and flexible to change, take initiative and work with minimal supervision
