GM / Plant Manager – Meat Processing

Our Toronto based Kosher meat processing client is in need of a GM/Plant Manager. This position will oversee the entire business and plant operation. If you have experience running a CFIA & HAACP meat processing operation and are customer focused with a “never say die” attitude this is the place for you!

Responsibilities:

Business Management & Leadership

  • P&L ownership of entire business
  • Maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and other resources
  • Manage activities of plant departments; processing, sales, finance, health and safety, human resources, quality control, warehouse and logistics
  • Review performance, ensure alignment to strategic goals. Provide periodic updates to Directors

Operations

  • Review daily activity, operations, sales and inventory reports to effectively manage productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations
  • Develop operating budget, capital planning and execution of projects
  • Strong awareness of inventory and shrink control
  • Develop/implement S.O.P.’s, organizational policies and goals to maintain daily plant operations
  • Implement and maintain preventive maintenance schedule

Safety

  • Implement and ensure adherence to all safety procedures related to plant operations.
  • Compliance with company, local, provincial and federal regulations, HACCP guidelines and other programs designed to safeguard employees and customers

Quality

  • Develop and maintain the Plant’s Quality Manual, ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Ensure plant is compliant with kosher requirements, internal/external policies, procedures, guidelines and governance

Personnel

  • Hire, train, coach, develop and evaluate all staff.
  • Foster culture of effective teamwork and support throughout the facility

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of organizational methods and the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during peak periods of activity
  • Knowledge in statistical process control preferred
  • HACCP Certification a plus but not required
  • Familiarity with Kosher protocols and requirements preferred but not required.

Compensation

  • Salary: $80k – $120k, commensurate with experience
  • Performance Bonus
  • Vacation: 2 weeks
