Production Manager – Printing

Our Toronto based client, an entrepreneurial specialty screen printer, provides graphics printed on metals, plastic, and vinyls. They are searching for a Production Manager to oversee all production in their 30,000 sf facility in central Toronto. Leading a team of 35, this role will ensure products are produced in the most cost-effective manner, delivered on time, at a quality standard that meets the needs of their customers.
The Production Manager will play a key role on the leadership team and be a key factor in the success of the company’s growth. The company customer base includes OEMs and aerospace customers that demand high quality products delivered on time. The successful candidate must have experience in management, process control, and quality systems. An Engineering degree is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities
• Manage all daily operations and efficiency strategies to ensure the facility meets production goals and standards
• Work together with a production coordinator to oversee production schedules, processes and procedures.
• Manage multiple projects on competing timeframes
• Provide training and development to staff to ensure strict adherence to policies & quality procedures and Health & Safety.
• Experience implementing and maintaining Lean Manufacturing an asset
• Ensure all goods are produced on time, on budget to the quality standards required
• Lead the quality program, validate and improve process controls
• Recommend and implement equipment upgrades to maximize efficiencies and utilization
• Review, assess and recommend changes to enhance production capabilities and to maintain and improve service and quality
• Team player, working together as key member of management team

Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production/plant management role
• Experience maintaining a quality management system; AS 9100 and ISO 9001
• Excellent leadership and team skills with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven analytical, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills
• Ability to manage tight deadlines, always maintain sharp attention to detail
