Operations Manager – Sheet Metal Fabrication

Our Woodbridge client, a leading industrial, commercial, and residential manufacturer of exhaust fans, blowers, and HVAC products and accessories is looking for an Operations Manager for one of their manufacturing plant/warehouse facilities. This role is on a career track to move into the GM role over the next 12 -24 months.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage daily production and operations
  • Ensure production is properly scheduled and completed on time
  • Manage and motivate plant staff to optimize their day-to-day productivity
  • Ensure staff is trained on machinery and equipment and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels for materials, parts and accessories
  • Adhere to equipment maintenance schedule to ensure that all machinery and equipment are in good working order
  • Maintain company health and safety standards at all times and ensure they are in compliance with the OH&S Act
  • Liaise with Management to continuously improve operations, quality control, productivity etc.
  • Notify Management of potential delays and /or production issues, while providing recommendations to resolve
  • Ensure the tidiness and general maintenance of the Plan/Warehouse facility

 

Qualifications:

  • Several years of experience in a sheet metal fabrication leadership role
  • WHMIS, Forklift license – would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Provide leadership, organizational and motivational guidance to employees
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer literacy and ability to use work related software applications
