Recruiting For Less – Our Ottawa based client provides patent services and technology intelligence to over 200 global technology, semiconductor, and electronics companies.  They are looking for a Technical Research and Sourcing Specialist

 Overview:

This role is prime for a technically savvy and curious individual to conduct research on components, products and market segments within the semiconductor and broader electronics industry. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and monitoring market availability and opportunities to procure products of interest. In addition, you will develop, nurture and grow external relationships within the electronics industry to provide insights into the electronics supply chain.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and gather data on technology trends and new development
  • identify companies and devices that are driving growth in pre-defined target sectors (e.g. Time of Flight in Mobile phones, SoCs for IoT devices, Imagers and sensors etc.)
  • investigate consumer products and components with potential for technical analysis
  • Maintain component and product roadmaps, including potential procurement channels
  • Make purchasing recommendations and initiate/manage procurement requests
  • Act as knowledge resource in all aspects of the technical product specifications

 Must Have Skills/Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in electronics, computer engineering or similar discipline
  • Experience and a strong interest in following and sourcing semiconductor technology
  • Demonstrated ability to research technical semiconductor content
  • Working knowledge of consumer electronics design
  • Strong organization skills and proven ability to research technical semiconductor content

Compensation:

  • Salary: 60 – 80k, Benefits, RRSP
  • Vacation: 3 weeks
