Quality Control Manager – Heavy Civil

Recruiting For Less – Our client, a Texas-based, heavy civil general contractor with broad experience serving both public and private sector clients, is looking for a Quality Control Manager to join their team!

The QC Manager is responsible for the implementation and management of the Contractor’s and/or Client’s Quality Control Program, including the coordination, performance and execution of construction inspection and testing services. The QC Manager is responsible for assuring that the quality of the work meets or exceeds the project’s contractual requirements and maintains the standard of excellence established by the Company.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Quality Control practices and procedures
  • Ensure all work is in conformance with the contractual requirements
  • Verify all material incorporated into the project conforms to all submittals, project specifications and drawings
  • Understand and execute the required testing procedures in conformance with the contract documents and industry standards
  • Create/Prepare outgoing correspondence to the clients, subcontractors, and other outside entities, ensuring accuracy, quality, and professionalism of work
  • Monitor, document and track all Quality Control documents including but not limited to Quality Control Daily Reports, Testing Reports and Inspection Reports
  • Review all special inspection and material testing performed by third parties

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the related fields of Construction Management or Engineering
  • 5+ years experience with Water- Based/ Heavy Civil projects or Vertical engineering projects, in a Quality Control capacity
  • Army Corp experience (necessary)
  • Government experience (preferred)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong skills in project management, negotiation, and problem solving
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High ability to function effectively in teamwork environment
  • Working knowledge of typical computer software programs used for project management
  • Proficient in reading, understanding, and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
