Project Manager – Heavy Civil

Recruiting For Less – Our client, a Texas-based, heavy civil general contractor with broad experience serving both public and private sector clients, is looking for a Project Manager to join their team.

The Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple water based, heavy civil construction related projects for our industrial, commercial, institutional, governmental, municipal, and public infrastructure clients.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Support of site superintendents
• Collaboration with subcontractors and clients
• Monitoring of costs and schedules
• Coordinate work in collaboration with the superintendent — schedule, manpower and equipment requirements, etc.
• Manage plans, specifications, addenda, and submittal/shop drawing process
• Manage changes and instructions pertaining to project
• Issue purchase orders for construction materials
• Prepare and/or review change orders
• Provide on-going communication with the client related to the project
• Preparation of schedules, progress updates, and progress invoices
• Organize and conduct construction site meetings as required
• Perform other duties assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
• 5+ years construction project management experience, dealing with heavy civil engineering projects
• Water based projects experience (preferred)
• Experience with Army Corp engineering and government projects (preferred)
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong skills in project management, negotiation, and problem solving
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High ability to function effectively in teamwork environment
• Working knowledge of typical computer software programs used for project management
