Parts-Components Engineer

Our client, a spacecraft development and support company is currently seeking candidates for a Parts/Components Engineer for the Electrical Systems Engineering Services II (ESES II) contract at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.  The ESES II contract is tasked with providing a broad range of engineering and related services to the GSFC Electrical Engineering Directorate as required, for the formulation, design, development, fabrication, integration, testing, verification, and operations of space flight and ground system hardware and software, including development and validation of new technologies in support of NASA’s current and future space flight and ground system projects.

Role/Responsibilities:

Major Job Functions:

• Review parts list for compliance with NASA GSFC and Project-specific quality and reliability requirements.
• Perform research and participate in Parts Control Board and Failure Review Board meetings.
• Review screening, lot acceptance testing, and destructive physical analysis results.
• Interface with GSFC and AS&D procurement organizations.
• Work with Senior Parts Engineer in mentor relationship.
• Some travel may be required (<10%).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Electronic, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent technical field.
• Understanding of parts specifications/manufacturing/testing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to prioritize activities and effectively support multiple projects/tasks.
