Jr. Mechanical Design Engineer

Our Markham based client, a leading provider of industrial refrigeration engineering design and systems integration is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team.
They are a growing company that produces equipment for thermal processing for many applications and industries, including; green energy, thermal storage, and food processing applications.

• You will work on the design of new parts, revision of old parts, creation of drawing packages (for production and prototyping)
• You will work on PDM (Solid Works storage of drawing files) and help create BOMs from drawing assemblies etc.
• You will perform tolerance stack up calculations on the sub-assemblies.
• You will utilize GD&T to detail mechanical equipment components to convey design intent and critical features in manufacturing drawings.
• You will create BOM, assembly drawings, and manufacturing instructions for assembling the equipment.
• You will work in an agile environment with a product focused team to contribute in all aspects of a product life cycle, from ideation to customer support.
• You will review ASME and CE requirements for pressure vessels and welding.

Minimum requirements:
• Engineering Diploma or Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
• 1-3 years’ experience working with SolidWorks.
• 1-3 years’ experience designing and detailing mechanical equipment
• Experience with design and production of rotating mechanical equipment and/or pressure vessels a benefit
• Experience with welded assemblies
• Knowledge of machining is an asset.
• Understanding of manufacturing, machining, welding processes.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and procedures.
