Electromagnetic Engineer

Recruiting For Less – Our Westfield MA client is a global designer/manufacturer of standard & custom electromagnetic components. They are looking for a Magnetics Design Engineer to join their team today and be groomed for a leadership position over the next few years.

This role designs and develops custom magnetic components (i.e. Transformers, Inductors) for customer’s application requirements. Primary emphasis is on high frequency switching power magnetics for all topologies. Markets served include Military, Aerospace, Industrial and Commercial.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test & document custom magnetic components (transformers, inductors, planar, filters, high voltage, etc.)
• Work closely with customers to assess & prioritize design requirements
• Construct, test, analyze and evaluate prototypes as required
• Interface directly with suppliers, keeping current with technology & products
• Develop testing methods/ construct special test circuits as required

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 year’s experience in design & development of high frequency switching magnetic components
• BSEE (emphasis on power) or equivalent
• Experience with CAD, circuit analysis .tools, electromagnetic simulation, etc
• Knowledge of switching power supply circuits & circuit design
• Ability to multitask, manage multiple projects with efficiency .
• Organized, self-motivated individual with good documentation skills
