Our Scarborough-based client, a well-established electrical construction firm is in need of an Electrical Estimator. Reporting to the Chief Estimator this role is responsible for the pricing and quotation of the electrical portion of construction projects. This person will be required to take off material counts, pipe and wire lengths, labor units etc.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of comprehensive labour and material estimates for electrical work
- Management of tender documents and change notice orders
- Liaise and communicate project details with field crew, project managers and customers to ensure project progression and completion
- Generate BOMs and coordinate purchasing of materials for projects
- Visit project site and perform accurate site survey
- Cultivate good customer relationships and communications to build repeat business and gain referrals
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience
- University/College degree
- Good knowledge of electrical construction and the Ontario electrical code;
- Familiarity with Accubid an asset but will train if required
- The ability to work both independently or in a team environment
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written
- Effective time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines
- Detail oriented
- Work well under pressure
- Professional manner essential
- Must have own vehicle
Compensation:
- Salary: $65 – 75K commensurate with experience
- Vacation: 6%
