Recruiting For Less – Our commercial builder client is looking for a Chief Estimator to support its GC division. This position requires an understanding of the complete bidding process of construction projects.
Role and responsibility:
• Oversee and co-ordinate the Estimating team
• Finalize all estimates from Concept to Construction
• Organize and prepare pre-bid packages; secure plans, specifications, addendums, etc
• Work with Sales to find, manage and maintain key relationships
• Provide leadership to the department
• Asses and review each bid, looking at risk and potential recommendations for improvements for each potential bid
• Strategic staff recruitment and advancement
• Strong understanding of local contracts requirements
• Key involvement with senior management personnel
Qualifications:
• 5 – 8 years of industry experience,
• Effective communicator and team player
• Able to operate in both a union and non-union environment
• Helping to provide leadership and oversight to the Estimation teams
• With the ability to understand project costs as well as identifying and resolving key issues with subcontractors and vendors.
• Understand market conditions and known costs
• Multi-Task, maintaining productivity working under extreme pressure to meet deadlines with accuracy and efficiency along with making sure project deadlines are met.
• MS Office and Project proficiency
• Excellent organization skills, planning and scheduling of time
• Team Player – ability to generate ideas to make team more efficient, productive & organized
• ATTITUDE MUST BE POSITIVE!!!
