Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Our Downtown Toronto-based client, a worldwide manufacturer and supplier of roofing products is in need of an Industrial Mechanic/Millwright to be responsible for servicing, repairing, and upgrading equipment and machinery in a plant manufacturing environment. The successful candidate should demonstrate background experience welding, machining, as well as knowledgeable in fire protection systems, gas/oil-fired units, and steam and hot oil systems.

Responsibilities:

Performs repairs, installations and maintenance procedures on machinery
Inspect and test equipment in order to diagnose and analyze problems
Determine nature of repairs and modifications required to minimize interruptions to production
Verifies equipment before each shift to ensure their proper function
Keep accurate maintenance records and journals
Understand, participate and support all safety programs, policies, and initiatives within the manufacturing facility
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of instrumentation, mechanical, process principles and current techniques through ability to install, dismantle, reassemble, replace, calibrate, repair, adjust, fabricate, lubricate, maintain, etc., systems and equipment as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3+ years’ experience in industrial maintenance in a plant manufacturing environment
Certificate/Diploma required, 433A licensed Industrial Millwright Mechanic (Red Seal); Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or Technology Diploma
Experienced with precision measuring tools such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, etc. as power transmission equipment such as reducers, clutches, and pumps
Rotating shifts, 8 or 10 hours, overtime and weekends with shift premiums

Compensation:

Salary: $30.68/hr for certificate of qualification
Vacation: 2 weeks
