Our Toronto-based client, a pre-construction cost planning and budget control company, is in need of a Loan Monitor/Quantity Surveyor to be responsible for the planning, organizing and reporting of projects and daily operations. The successful candidate should demonstrate an outgoing personality, interpersonal skills, and a client-focused mentality.

Responsibilities:
• Conducting progress reviews on the site
• Pricing of estimates and cost plans
• Attend design team meetings
• Review financing agreements / understanding of funding arrangements
• Ability to meet and manage clients and other professional consultants
• Assist in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies
• Maintain ongoing client communication and resolve issues expeditiously
• Writing reports on all financial aspects of the project
• Manage the financial budget on projects
• Work directly with the bank and developer
• Understand and come up with solutions to structural building issues

Qualifications:
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Quantity Surveying
• Extensive knowledge of the construction industry including development, contracting, and consulting sectors
• College degree or diploma in Construction Management, a financial background is an asset
• Professional Quantity Surveyor Qualification
• Membership in an approved Professional Body such as CIQS and/or RICS
• Knowledge of Uniformat II standard method of measurement (elemental/trade, Provincial Lien Act and standard contract conditions – CCDC) and LEED sustainability design requirements
• Ongoing maintenance of CPD (Continuing Professional Development)
• Ability to maximize the use of appropriate software and technology such as CAD, Timberline, and Digitizer
• Strong computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Self-motivated and takes initiative
• Able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines

Compensation:
• Salary: $70-90K
• Vacation: 2 weeks
