General Manager – Active Indoor Playground

Our Glenview IL client is opening a community-focused premier kids’ soft play and climbing course destination. They are in need of a General Manager to oversee overall management of the facility by monitoring daily operations, maintaining a safe and functional operating environment, oversight of fiscal responsibility and staff. The General Manager also serves as a liaison between the facility members, staff and Directors and leads the charge on community focused initiatives. If you are adept at wearing multiple hats, charismatic, able to inspire and lead using strong communication skills; but also responsible, can ensure protocol adherence and follow up on tasks then this is the role for you!

Responsibilities:

Customer service: Lead by example by setting the bar for all staff members to meet the needs of members and guests
Resource management: Coordinate appropriate resources and materials for events and programs; organize volunteers and staff involvement
Manage schedules: oversee events, programs, lessons, and safety inspections
Staff management: including hiring, coaching, training, evaluation, termination
Daily interaction with members and staff to survey for future business needs
Manage updates on social network platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and maintain customer and email database
Drive group sales and corporate packages
Food court management (order food and supplies, ensure quality)
Ensure completion and accuracy of payroll administration in a timely manner and submit payroll reports
Prepare financial reports, complete bank deposits and manage budgets
Provide weekly reports to Directors
Maintain company policy in all aspects and administer waiver policy

Qualifications:

3 – 5 years’ experience in a management role and administration
Experience in a fitness/recreational community and/or hospitality an asset
Experience working with youths/volunteers
University/college education required
Computer literacy in Internet, Email, MS Office
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, able to work well in a team
Effective organizational and time management skills
Flexibility, open to work weekends and holidays

Compensation:

Salary: 47 – 55k commensurate with experience
Vacation: 2 weeks
