Windows Network and Server Admin – ecommerce SaaS

Our Richmond Hill client powers seamless cross-channel shopping experiences for major North American and International retailers through creative and intelligent design, development, implementation and support of Omni-Channel SaaS (Software as a Solution).

They are seeking a bright-minded and talented individual to join their team as a Windows Network & Server Admin. Your role in the organization is fundamental and serves as the backbone of their IT infrastructure by developing, deploying and supporting Cloud Services. You are capable of fully leveraging Microsoft Development and Server Platforms and you are seeking to make an impact—to be an active proponent of process improvement, to execute new ideas, concepts and designs. This role will collaborate with the development manager and CTO on the following:
• Deploying, configuring and supporting the infrastructure for the hosted SaaS platform
• Deploying, configuring and supporting the infrastructure for the development, QA and staging environments
• Monitoring and troubleshooting all services running across the organization’s infrastructure and Windows Azure
• Identifying areas of the platform and infrastructure requiring additional monitoring and implementing monitoring strategies
• Improving processes surrounding server and client provisioning, software deployments/upgrades
• Collaborating with Platform and Project teams to identify and resolve issues
• Liaising between the Support and Platform teams regarding escalation
• Planning capacity and infrastructure
• Participating in after-hours/on-call rotations

Requirements
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft technologies including IIS, ASP.NET, SQL Server, Windows Server, PowerShell, Active Directory, Hyper-V, Exchange and SharePoint
• University/College education in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology
• 5+ years’ experience in Microsoft web technologies and Windows Server Administration in a product development setting
• Demonstrated initiative, ability to adapt and learn quickly
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written) and a team-player

Assets
• Experience in monitoring tools (System Center, New Relic, NetIQ, etc.)
• Experience with setting up performance/load testing tools (Visual Studio Load Tests, Loadrunner, E-Load, etc.)
• Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server
• Experience with deployment and administration of Cisco, SonicWALL or Juniper Firewalls, Routers and Switches
• Experience with Microsoft Azure
