Facility Manager – Fitness/Tourism

Our Markham client, a community-focused premier fitness and tourism destination, is in need of a Facility Manager to oversee overall management of the facility. Responsible for all operational and administrative functions, the Facility Manager also serves as a liaison between the facility members, staff and Directors and leads the charge on community focused initiatives. If you are adept at wearing multiple hats, charismatic, able to inspire and lead using strong communication skills; but also responsible, can ensure protocol adherence and follow up on tasks then this is the role for you!

Responsibilities:
• Customer service: Lead by example by setting the bar for all staff members to meet the needs of members and guests
• Resource Management: Coordinate appropriate resources and materials for events and programs; organize volunteers and staff involvement
• Manage schedules; oversee events, programs, lessons, and safety inspections
• Staff management, coaching and training
• Daily interaction with members and staff to survey for future business needs
• Manage updates on social network platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
• Ensure completion and accuracy of payroll administration in a timely manner
• Provide weekly reports to Directors

Qualifications:
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in a management role and administration
• Experience in a fitness/recreational community and/or hospitality an asset
• University/college education required
• Computer literacy in Internet, Email, MS Office
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, able to work well in a team
• Effective organizational and time management skills
• Versatility, adaptability, strong ability to act with tact and diplomacy to a varied audience

Compensation:
• Salary: 45 – 55k commensurate with experience
• Vacation: 2 weeks
