Finance Manager – Fashion Distribution [CLOSED]

Our central Toronto client, a leader in the fashion distribution sector, is looking for a Finance Manager to assume the financial reins of this family owned $15M business.  Wearing different hats, this role will lead all accounting, finance and business decision support activity.  If you are looking for a finance leadership role in a vibrant business environment that is primed for growth this is the place for you!

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Accounting department
  • Monitor, analyze and provide commentary on operating results against budget
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring financial and operating performance of divisions and departments
  • Prepare financial statements, outlooks and forecasts
  • Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions
  • Develop financial and budget policies and procedures
  • Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service payments
  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions
  • Conduct deep dive analyses as required
  • Ensure compliance with municipal , provincial, and federal budgetary reporting requirements
  • Work with department managers and corporate staff to develop 3 and 5 year business plans
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Design, establish , and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives
  • Serve on planning and policy-making committees
  • Serve as primary legislative liaison relative to company financial issues
  • Oversee financial management of foreign operations
  • Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 Additional Responsibilities

  • Represent the company externally to media, government agencies, funding agencies, and the general public.
  • Recruit, train , supervise, and evaluate department staff.
  • Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff.
  • Knowledge of finance , accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting reporting systems
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial financial regulations.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
  • Knowledge of short/long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis
  • Professional written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality results within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of experience in a senior level finance or accounting role
  • Accounting designation (CMA, CA)

Compensation

  • 70k – 90k plus bonus
  • Group health and dental coverage
  • 2 weeks annual paid vacation
