Draftsperson

Our Etobicoke-based client, a manufacturer and contractor of exterior construction material is in need of a Draftsperson to be responsible for designing and developing shop drawings on AutoCAD and Revit. We are currently seeking candidates with all levels of experience but experience must be industry specific to sheet metal and construction materials, e.g. siding, cladding, roofing, etc.

Responsibilities:

Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings of metal construction materials on AutoCAD and Revit
Interact with engineering team to understand project requirements (schedule and budgets)
Write technical reports and specifications
Estimate costs and materials
Complete documentation packages and drawing sets
Examine drawings for conformity and errors
Liaise with clients and subcontractors to obtain project information and discuss design related issues
Develop and maintain modelling/drafting standards

Qualifications:

University/College degree in Drafting
Strong computer proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other 3D modelling software, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Attention to detail

Compensation:

Salary: commensurate with experience
Vacation: 2 weeks
