Process Technicians – Injection Molding (2nd and 3rd shift)

Recruiting For Less – Our Lake Geneva injection molding client is looking for Process Technicians. The Process Technician will assume responsibility for the development of manufacturing methods and processes within the company’s injection molding department. This is a hands-on position performing sample activities daily. Investigate, establish, and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, materials, and methods of manufacturing, from pilot runs through normal production. Work with the shift supervisors, process technicians, and fellow engineers. Analyze production steps to establish a sequence of operations to allow the most efficient, effective method of manufacture. Establish production standards, furthermore, perform cost control and cost reduction studies, in addition to analyzing and correcting production problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the INJECTION MOLDING PROCESS TECHNICIAN is to safely and efficiently perform top-quality operational duties on a daily basis which include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Process optimization using scientific molding principles
• Anticipating cost avoidance opportunities and achieving cost reduction opportunities
• Hands-on process/tooling troubleshooting
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and productivity covering all process areas-cycle times, scrap, downtime, machine/tools, and energy.
• Stabilize and optimize molding area performance and reduce mold change over time
• Train and coach injection mold technicians on the latest problem solving, set-up and processing techniques
• Analyze process failures for root cause and recommend corrective actions
• Recommend equipment to better automate manufacturing processes
• Work with engineering on new project start-ups with a transition into production
• Performing the above-mentioned functions with minimum supervision

Qualifications/Skills:
• Excellent project management.
• Ability to collaborate with operations and maintenance teams in the plant.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in MS Office
• Background in implementing continuous improvement projects in a manufacturing setting.

Education & Experience:
• 3 years’ of related experience or a post-secondary plastics certification
